Technically, if you want to produce internet video your best choices are Quicktime and Flash. Quicktime is very easy to publish but Flash is the preferred
choice because most PC's do not have the Quicktime player installed and a lot of viewers don't want to download and install it. Apple muddied the waters
by encouraging people to install Safari and other software that most people should not install with Quicktime.
From a non-technical standpoint, publishing video on the internet is dangerous. If there are people in the background and they have not given you approval, you
may have legal problems. We encourage people to watch what they are publishing, at least twice to
be sure there is nothing that anyone would object to. The last thing you want is to answer the door and get served or arrested because you took a video and
your teenager posted it onto YouTube; it does happen and is a major reason why amateur videographers should not take video.
You may wonder why I chose this video to talk about the privacy and legal issues. Please watch the entire video, there is a nationally known celebrity in it.
I had no idea who they were when I recorded this video as I do not watch the nightly Business News, but if we hadn't asked his permission we probably would have
had problems.
